Learn more about AmSoc Rio de Janeiro

 Dear Colleagues,

This morning I received the following information from Peter's widow, Dra. Helena Rabang.
Peter's remains will be available for viewing Sunday, March 14, from 9 to 5 PM at Cappella 1, Cemitério São João Batista, Botafogo.  Please note that the Capellas are on Real Grandeza to the left just before entering the tunnel to Copacabana (or on the right just after leaving the tunnel from Copacabana).  The burial will be at 5 PM at the same cemetery and the service will be held between 3 and 4 PM that day just prior to the burial.
A Mass will be held Wednesday, March 17, at 11 AM at the Igreja Santa Cruz (Centro) address to follow.
Peter's sister, Cary Estrada, and his cousin, Lorrie (whose last name I don't have), are scheduled to arrive in Rio from the US on Sunday morning.  His business partner, David Rogus also will arrive Sunday.  If you are so inclined, please make yourselves known to them and make them feel welcome.
On behalf of the American Society, I would like to express our appreciation to Governor Melinda McGarvey and her husband CMDR Tim McGarvey, the Defense Attache Officer at the Consulate in Rio, for their incredible help in facilitating arrangements both in Rio and in Washington including obtaining a US Flag for the ceremony.

You just have to love American-themed events to be a member - we have many nationalities in our group.
